Hello!
Hey everyone! My name is Megan Edmundson I am a student here at the University of Oklahoma in beautiful Norman, Ok. I am taking this class because I need some more upper-level credits, taking a full load to graduate this December (YAY!) and also working full-time. I have done blog post in other classes here on campus, just have not used blogger yet. Think that I have used wordpress a few times, Wikipedia, and then there was another one I just don't remember the name of the site. But, my screen-name is always the same on the blog sites, and personal use as in other forms of social media: Lovemeg91 or Lovemeg_91. keeps things simple for me, easier to remember, and less likely someone else has used it before on the same website.
I think working with and on blog sites are fun. Also way less formal than a traditional paper to turn in. I have learned that blog post are a great way to get the information and thoughts in your head out there so more people can read besides just our teachers and teaching assistants. Yes, I know that we still need to properly cite and give credit where credit is due when a thought or idea is not our own. Also, we can add images to our text also to draw attention from people just browsing on a subject that we are talking about.
Now, what do I expect out of this class? While I am reading the syllabus and reading what is expected from me in the course is a little nerve wrecking. This is because in previous and other current classes the teacher already has a set (-ish) schedule for what we do each week in class and when things are due. This class I am deciding when and what things to do and read. With working with blogs now for three or four semesters, I would like to hope to keep one going but with things I am interested in and not a requirement for class. I like to cook, bake, and quilt in my free time and I think it would be fun to keep all of my projects in one place where they can inspire other people to create as well.
Okay, I think that is enough of me rambling for now before I get completely off topic than what I need to be for class. For outside people reading this, a reminder I AM A STUDENT, I AM DOING MY BEST, AND PLEASE BE NICE. I will cite and give credit where credit is due to the best of my ability.
Hope that everyone has a great week/day/month/year (however long you will follow this blog post).
