  • in front of a house under a tree the March Hare the Hatter having tea
  • the Dormouse between them fast asleep
  • large table, but they were crowded at one corner
  • cried out "No room! No room!" when they saw Alice 
  • Alice sat down in a large armchair at one end of the table
  • Hare offered Alice wine, there was no wine only tea
  • Hare says, "it wasn't very civil of you to sit down without being invited," 
  • the Hatter looked at Alice for a long time with great curiosity, told Alice that her hair want cutting
  • alice told him that was rude 
  • the Hatter's eyes opened very wide and said: "Why is a raven like a writing-desk?"
  • Alice loved riddles and thought she could guess 
  • the March Hare told Alice to say what she means 
  • the party became silent for a minute 
  • Alice couldn't remember much about ravens and writing-desks
  • Hatter asked what day of the month it was, taking his watch out of his pocket shaking it every now and then
  • Alice told him the day
  • Hatter asked Alice if she figures out the riddle yet 
  • Alice had given up and asked what the answer was
  • "I haven't the slightest idea," said the Hatter 
  • Alice thought the riddle with no answer was a waste of time
  • Hatter told Alice that time is a HIM, not an IT. 
  • Hatter tells Alice why it is always 6 o'clock 
  • and that is why so many tea-things are out because it is always 6 o'clock 
  • she helped herself to tea and bread-and-butter 
  • Alice kept getting sushed during the Dormouse's story 
  • Dormouse called Alice stupid. she ignored the comment 
  • in the story, they drew things that started with an M-- mouse-traps, the moon, and memory, and muchness
  • Alice found the tea-party to be stupid and didn't want to return again
  • She saw a tree with a door in it. found it odd but went through the door anyway because of how the day was going
