A Mad Tea-Party Cont. End

  • tea party outside, March Hare, the Hatter, and a Dormouse all in attendance
  • the table was large, but all 3 sat together at one end. When they saw Alice walking up they all yelled no room
  • Alice sat down at one end of the table in a large chair and said there is plenty of room
  • the Hare offered something that they did not have, and told Alice it was rude to sit down without being invited
  • the Hatter finally spoke after a great time just staring at Alice, said something about her hair (it wanted to be cut)
  • Alice called him rude for making personal remarks
  • the Hatter opened his eyes wide and said "Why is a Raven like a writing desk?"
  • the hatter took a watch out of his coat and asked what day of the month it was
  • the watch was 2 days wrong, Hatter said "I told you that butter wouldn't suit the works!" 
  • Alice thought this was a funny clock because it told the month and day and not the time of day it was
  • Hatter asked Alice if she solved the riddle yet, and said she gave up
  • 'I Haven't the slightest idea' said the Hatter
  • Alice thought this was an odd way to waste time, and told them this
  • Hatter replied, "if you knew Time as well as I do, you wouldn't talk about it wasting IT, It's HIM."
  • they keep talking about Time
  • Hatter had to sing for the Queen, and she yelled he is murdering the time! off with his head!
  • after that the time is always 6 o'clock
  • The 3 of them wanted to Dormouse to tell a story, and to hurry or he would be asleep again before its done
  • the Dormouse's story started, "Once upon a time there were 3 little sisters...."
  • Muchness is mentioned in the Dormouse's story
  • As she was leaving the tea-party, which she thought was horrible, there was a tree with a door in it
  • she was back in the room with all the doors, and a key. she at some of the mushroom in her pocket till she was a foot tall and walked through the door that opened with the key. and found herself in a beautiful garden among bright flowers and fountains

The Queen's Croquet-Ground Cont. End

  • 3 gardeners were painting a rose tree red
  • the gardeners were arguing about why the Queen wanted to cut off one of their heads when they noticed Alice
  • Alice asked why they were painting the roses red
  • they accidentally planted a white rose tree instead of a red one
  • one of the gardeners saw the queen, they all laid down on the ground face flat
  •  a great parade of people: soldiers, courtiers, royal children, guest, the white rabbit, the Knave of Hearts and finally the King and Queen of Hearts
  • he parade of people stopped in front of Alice as she was not laying down
  • The Queen asked who she was, and the 3 laying beside her
  • Alice replied with her name ever so politely, and the 3 beside her with how should I know its no business of mine. 
  • the Queen turned red and yelled off with her head!
  • Alice silenced the queen by saying nonsense
  • the king said to the queen consider my dear she is only a child
  • the queen invited Alice to play croquet
  • Alice and the White Rabbit talked about the duchess
  • Alice never seen a croquet ground like this before: it was all ridges and furrows, balls were live hedgehogs, the mallets live flamingos, and the soldiers had to double themselves up and to stand on the hands and feet to make the arches

  • it was hard for Alice to manage her flamingo
  • the hedgehog would start to walk away
  • and the doubled up soldiers were always moving around
  • all the players were playing at once
  • the Queen finally became furious and started yelling off with his/her head about once a minute
  • Alice started to worry about her own head, and was looking for a way to escape without being seen
  • that is when she saw the Cheshire Cat grinning
  • only his head appeared and asked how she was doing, she proceeded to tell him of her troubles at the Queens croquet game
  • Cheshire asked how she liked the queen
  • Alice started off by saying she didn't like her at all, until the queen walked up behind her. Alice switched it to the game and there was no sense of playing the game if the queen is winning
  • the king came up to Alice and asked who she was talking to, he didn't like the look of Cheshire, and said that he could kiss his hand if he would like. Cheshire said no

Who Stole the Tarts?! Cont.

  • they were all in a courtroom. the king was the judges. and different creatures were the jurors. 
  • the jurors were writing stupid things on slate before the trial even began
  • this would be the trial of the Knave of Hearts stealing the queens tarts
  • the first witness was the Hatter
  • he was so nervous that he bit a large piece of his teacup rather than his piece of bread and butter
  • Alice began to grow in the courtroom, squeezing the Dormouse sitting beside her
  • the next witness was the duchess's cook, carrying in a box of pepper
  • was asked what the tarts were made of, cook replied pepper mostly
  • the Dormouse said Treacle, and the queen said off with his head. the whole court was searching and chasing the dormouse then the cook slipped out
  • the next witness the white rabbit read out was Alice... 

Alice's Evidence cont.

  • Alice jumped up saying here and knocking over the jurors box
  • court could not continue until all the jurors were back in their spots
  • the king started to question Alice
  • she had no knowledge of the events
  • the king yelled out form his book that all persons more than a mile high must leave the court
  • as for Alice was still growing
  • there was still more evidence of a letter, not addressed to anyone
  • the rabbit read the verses out loud for the court
  • the verse was the most important piece of evidence they had heard yet said the king
  • the queen told Alice to hold her tongue, she refused, and the queen said off with her head
  • Alice grown to her full size and asked them what it matters to them (the court) they are just a deck of playing cards
  • the cards start falling all around Alice, that is when she wakes up in her sister's lap
